Who we are and what we do?
We have a long history of sustainability, ecology and responsible business practices. However, we have noticed that this is no longer enough. The climate collapse is gathering momentum, democracies are bursting at the seams, the scissors are cutting and what used to be true no longer applies. We are on the threshold of a new paradigm. Its birth needs to be helped and that is where our hearts lead us.

13 years ago I founded the activist studio Butterflies & Hurricanes, whose portfolio now represents non-profits, local projects and organisms riding the wave of the New Paradigm. After over 28 years of experience in design and packaging, I am aware of the devastating effects of marketing on society and individuals, so I apply the principles of Mattering to my studio, for which caring for the Planet and its inhabitants is more important than profit and growth. More than titles and professional achievements, I appreciate being a resident of the beautiful planet Earth, a mother, a wife and an observer of the breathtaking wisdom of nature.

All my life I have been drawn to nature and its wisdom. In 2011 I started working at the activist design studio Butterflies & Hurricanes and suddenly everything started to make sense and connect – environmental, social and interpersonal themes. Mattering gave me a new perspective on what an ideal collaboration can look like without devastating relationships, nature, people, and the planet. I am grateful for all these ventures and would like to continue working on meaningful projects that I hope 1% for the New Story will bring.

Dula of a new paradigm
I’ve worked as a doula all my professional life. I have helped global IT projects, systemic changes in Czech obstetrics and innovative business, but most of all our children and mothers. My priority is to find ways to change the world for the better. I connect the field of traditional wisdom and spirituality of indigenous peoples with modern tools to change our world. And finding that connection is exactly what I enjoy about 1% for the New Story.
Lukáš Rolf

I grew up in the Podkrkonoší region surrounded by nature and took it for granted. While studying at the University of Economics, however, I found myself in the middle of a pulsating urban labyrinth and gradually realized that the feeling of being pinned between asphalt and steel was not only felt by me, but by the entire living planet. After a lifetime of stumbling and pivoting from a fledgling career for a global lovebrand towards conservation, I dove deep into systemic issues, leveraged my community-building experience, and co-founded the business platform Change for the Better. Alongside trying to fix the system, I believe it is important to support alternatives that change our perception of the world and offer new stories and pathways. My favorite places to create are on the waves of electronic music, with friends in nature, or both at the same time while organizing the Fenix and Psychedelicious festivals.
